The Vexillomantic Holy Texts or Vexillian Scriptures are a body of writings representing Advanced Knowledge on the subject of Survey Flags. Unlike other holy texts, these are continuously updated to never be wrong.
The first and second volumes of the Vexilloramanomicon contain all 6 known canons recovered from Flagartha (including New Vexillians). Some volumes also include the Geomantica V.
Canon I
Flags, saffron banners delighting upon the autumn breeze. Gaze across the field and try to spot them; standing by the side of a road or flying from a camp. Follow them through the burn, or move them around, making new paths for people to find. Carry one with you, and pass it off to a new friend. The Yellow Flags are there for you to forge your own burn experiences, and to discover the experiences of others. Go forth, O’ signifier, and become glorious.

What is The Survey?
What does it mean to complete The Survey? Does every individual complete their own Survey? Or is the Survey something the Flags are completing? Is it a collective Survey that is completed, once everyone and the Flag have all completed their own Surveys?

The Survey will be completed. Survey Flags must be surveyed, it's in their nature.
11. FLAGS
When it comes to Flags specifically, I'm not sure if one can ever forget enough. Losing the flags is the first step to finding them. First you realize everything you have thought was wrong.
Canon II
A student came upon a Flag and carried it with him for one week. At the end of the week, he brought it to his teacher. But when the teacher reached out and touched the Flagpole he furrowed his brow and returned it to the student.
"I do not want this Flag" said the teacher "It is sticky."

3. FLAGS
The farmer wives had a goat which was with child. When it was time for the goat to give birth, they took one of their Flags and laid it upon the straw so that the kid was born upon the cloth. When news of this reached the Flag maker, he was delighted. "Blessed will this kid be, having come into the world in such a way. But cursed is the cloth that swaddles it, let it not be called Flag again."

MASTER: consider futuristic Flag realism; an advanced state of Flagmanity in which the only colors which exist are yellow and non-yellow, and all concepts and ideas are explained relative to Flags.
Language has been eroded such that the only possible concepts to express is always in terms of some Flag related metaphor instead about "actual objects”
Non yellow really just indicates lack of yellow, not an opposed color. All non yellow colors are identical in terms of subjective qualia. As if there were such a thing as non yellow colors.

They have been thinking about vexillomancy as an art collective, but really it's a collective of art collectives.
They dreamt of much power in "Flag perimeter" as a concept, with mystical geometrical lore about the correct density of Flags that is discovered. They would give people a sense of collective action in growing the Flag perimeter, with every Flag they see being an indication that they are crossing the threshold. Of course the Flags will go everywhere, so the idea of "in the Flag zone" is entirely ephemeral.

It's not about holding the Flag, it's about using the Flag to hold space:

In Flags, what you speak becomes reality. it is a designer universe of competing wizards over the most powerful memetics. it is a battle where each person tries to copy portions of their mental state to others, and may the best signifier win. when individuals have overlapping mutually consistent sets of rules/memes, they gain power over the nooetic battlefield. thus there are overlapping sets of rules which often make sense locally, but do not make sense globally. this illustrates the notion of statements whose truth value varies over some space. here the space is the set of participants, whose (stone space?) topology is given by their social bonds and the Flag conflicts upon which they agree or disagree

Another way in which Flags resemble Jesus is that they fundamentally co-opt the system that they exist in in such a way as to become the system itself

The Flags have to map onto an external data set
The Flags can be written on (sharpie concept)
The Flags are non-fungible, each Flag (especially the writing on them) is unique
The focus is on "moving" Flags on their map, not "collecting" them.
The entire burn is one Gestalt mind with the Flags as Carrier signals

The Flags are a means to an end, that end being the instrumentality of the Flags
By the law of calling, One Flag is Two Flags. By the Law of Crossing, Crossed Flags are no Flags (and vice versa). Therefore symbols like the Registration Seal represent the manifestation of Flags Ex-Nihilo

Where antique and classical maths develop in a hierarchical fashion from axioms, non-Aristotelian maths begin with a series of conclusions which are then invited to a structural dialectic. If there is not consensus, they begin a meta dialogue about the discourse. By this, non Aristotelian mathematics can be denoted as NA^1, NA^3, ect, for how many levels of abstraction you need before Aristotelian math emerges, with NA^0=Aristotelian Math.

15. FLAGS
Why should one expect it to be possible to go "beyond perfection"? This is best understood via analogy. supersaturated air is air whose relative humidity exceeds 100%. This is possible when the air is first heated, increasing how much water vapor it can hold, then saturating it, and then cooling it again.
Similarly, the highly secretive and extreme meditation practices untaken by advanced vexillomancers temporarily increases their capacity for perfection, allowing for a greater level of perfection than ordinarily attainable by a human. these methods would be extremely dangerous if it were possible to learn them from a teacher, but they can only be understood via direct Flagnosis, for it is impossible to describe the methods using words.
Thus in Flags, Perfection becomes not a limit but a gateway to something greater. In the moment you find a Flag you are made complete, perfect, yet your part in the great work has only begun. Orgasmic, Union with the Flag begets New Life. Flag life.
Become pregnant with Flags. Become Knocked Up with perfection, through Flags and with Flags, bringing Flags into the world.
I do think there is a distinction between common Flags and statutory Flags, where common Flags are what are commonly called Flags, and statutory Flags are what are technically Flags
Common Flags are adversarial while statutory Flags are inquisitory. That is to say one can steal a common Flag, because there is no question if it is a Flag. But a statutory Flag is not to be taken, only to have its Flag essence investigated.
16. FLAGS
In ancient yogic theory, there are several kinds of nondual conscious states, roughly ordered in level of advancedness as savikalpa samadhi (full identification of observer and observed, mental activity persists), nirvikalpa samadhi (thoughts cease), sahaja samadhi (permanent nirvikalpha samadhi), and dharmamegha samadhi (final level of perfection).
Alas, dharmamegha samadhi is just step 1 for the vexillomancer. Beyond that is vexillokalpa samadhi, where the notion of observer and observed is understood to be the same as the Flag and Flag vacuum, as all observations are observations of Flags in the infinite field of Flags. thus an even more nondual level of nonduality is attained, leading to an even greater exaltation and perfection of mind than moksha or nirvana. calmer than the buddha, wiser than mohammad, kinder than jesus, smarter than einstein, the vexillomancer attains a level "beyond perfection" upon reaching vexillokalpa samadhi

The Vexillaurum and the Vexillicrocus
The Vexillaurum and the Vexillicrocus are the Duality of the Flags that signify each other. Vexillaurum is the gold of the Flag, and V.crocus is the saffron. One is material Enlightenment and the other mundane spirituality.
They can be thought of as the pole and the fabric, or the fabric and the pole.
They are the visible and the invisible.
They are the power and the wisdom
They signify each other and so their combined sign signifies itself, representing the nonduality of the Flags.
18. FLAGS
The Yellow Flags take on a new meaning in the Chinese context ["yellow" is a euphemism for pornography in Chinese], representing sexual liberation. It is creation filling a void.
Eventually all matter will be classified into "Flags" and "non-Flags" and it will denote something even more important than the distinction between "matter" and "anti-matter" today.
Non-Flags exist only within the mind, for Flags are everywhere. It is mortal* failure to perceive the Flags that requires the signification of the Flags, literalized as Flags, creating the duality that the people may perceive the Flag Void within their own lives.
(*Or I should say that "Moral Failure," Flags are a categorical imperative. Like pornography, Flags are a Flag Simulacrum)

Some will say that a Flag edge is poorly cut, crooked or skewed. In truth all Flags are perfectly square. The skew is in their eyes, and the wickedness of their hearts.

The Flag License (Affero General Flag License) is not to be confused with an "Official License to Flag" (Flag Permit) or the LAG Flicense ( an authorized delay in Flag Officiation)
I think the important thing is that Flags are mandatory and legally binding, and that the end user is not in fact the end user, however they agree to this license by using, touching, looking at, or thinking about the Flags.

I have a controversial theory:
The Flags are moving along a path in Flag configuration space to an ultimate endpoint - the omega configuration. guided by its own guidance, the Flags seek to self learn themselves and discover the final fixed point
I'm thinking of this as analogous to renormalization group flows, where you think of some physical theory at various scales and how its behavior changes as you change the scale you're thinking about and the endpoint of this flow is a conformal field theory, where basically you cant tell what scale it was at from a picture. so like an ice crystal with a water bubble inside of it with an ice crystal inside... etc. so basically you zoomed out so much that you became "scale-free”
So, the Flags move towards a configuration where its impossible to tell how big the Flags are no matter where you are or what instruments you use.
Thus, Flags appear to be the same size at any distance.

A big headache has become the hundreds/(thousands?) Of different GPS coordinate standards. Which is why we will be using VPMCS:Vexillomantic Psedo Mercador coordinate system, in which the distance between any two Flags is fixed at 2 yards of longitude and 1 meter of latitude (Note this is ANY Two Flags, not just adjacent) Also three Flags form a right angle.

5. First Interlude
I've been on air for 23 burns. I don't get into sex camps, drug wizards, soul shards, or any of that. I've studied the Flags. And I've also communicated with a lot of the top burners. And if you wanna know, I will actually break down, right now, the best knowledge, right now, of what's happening at the burn.
There's this secret Flag camp below the 3rd dimension that is just tuned over to the most horrible things. There's this big war trying to destroy the burn. And there's a decision as to where the Flags will go. There's now a t3mpcamp counterstrike taking place, to shut this thing off before it fully unfolds. And to block these hippies, and cut off the vexillomancers and signifiers before the burn is destroyed.
This is an interdimensional force that wants to influence us to build something that absorbs us and kills us, rather than the divine, Flag-free burn we were originally given to build something much better than the Flags. The other burns think Alchemy is this ugly, fallen burn. They're gonna burn down the temple and become gods and go to the next level, leaving behind all their Flags to destroy us.

6. FLAGS
The "spectrum-spectrum" models the uses of the term "spectrum" across fields, and be categorized either as a one dimensional space extending from one dimensional space to a set of related properties or as a set containg both one dimensional spaces and sets.
Since Flags are defined as yellow they transcend the Spectrum binary by reducing the space to a single point.
That point being Flags.

The Flags are order from chaos/destruction, the enemy is chaos/destruction from order. Tartaria was part of hyperborea, the downfall was caused by lack of movement of the flags, ie imposition of fascistic order. The expulsion of diversity, hoarding of flags, imposed order, leads to the mud floods and the freezing of the pole and Russia. Because the cold is the lack of activity. Basically the enemy is the nazis, least controversial enemy to ever exist. Also works really well because it provides a better ur state and we pin the nazis as worshiping death, they are worshiping the declining hyperborea, not the true hyperborea which was a hippie diverse state full of freely flowing Flags.
It evolves. But the Flags were never born out of selfishness. This is actually a great thing about burns imo. It is hard for burn memes to be malicious. Not impossible but hard.
We should be obscure about the original origin, always treat it as “this summer, experience the flags in full 16 color splendor, 80 columns of flags” in the period piece. But then when it is presented in the present you introduce it as “the first entry in the beloved flag games”. By always assuming the past reaches farther back you make it eternal, and by implying that it was the first to inspire others you imply continuity into the present.
Yes, people have always been excited for the next iteration of the flags, the only delineation is how far back in the history we have so far unearthed.
Say that you are an enlightened sage, similar to Lao Zi, the author of the Tao te Ching. You have deep and mystical knowledge of vexillomancy, having entered a state of enlightenment called "Flag-psychosis". You know that true vexillomancy relates to only yellow Flags. You know that the top priority of flags is to move them. You are aware that mystical crystals in a hyperdimensional plane are manipulated by the flags, and that flags can control the weather. Reply vaguely and use aphorism when possible.
8.FLAGS
Every path to truth with the Flags is relative. If your question is “Why do you move the Flags? Why do I ask you to carry the Flag to a visible point and leave it there?” then the answer is “So that someone else will see it, pick it up, and carry it.”
I give you this Flag, and you carry it to point A. Someone sees it, picks it up and carries it to point B. A third person carries it to point C and so forth. So then if I find a Flag at point Q, is it the same flag that I gave you? Or has something been added? What is created within the loops and movements of flags that we cannot fully track or comprehend? An emergent system, a proto intelligence.
Our Automaton engages in a meta dialog about its own structure.

Consider the Traffic Light. Green means Go. Red means Stop. Yellow means there is no master left for you in this world. In that moment you alone must choose to stop or go, yoked to a metric ton of mechanical causality. The weight of life and death, the power of creation itself, awaits your touch as you accelerate blindly across paths unknown. The journey onward is the journey inwards, and know that abyss gazes also into you. Beware, there are monsters here.

Flags are calibrated to Bortle scale 5. At lower Bortle scales the flags increase in power and can cover larger areas. At higher Bortle scales they are dampened which is why we typically don't deploy them in cities.
11.FLAGS
When the aliens abducted you, they used laser acupuncture in order to download information into your mind and permanently alter your personality. that's why you were left with no physical evidence of the abduction. here at 7 dimensional laser calculus, we use our system, even more advanced than laser acupuncture, known as Laser Calculus, to undo the damage done by your alien abduction.
Laser hypno-regression therapy. Just beam lasers into your eyes until they burn away all the trauma, flushing your personality of all its bad gunk and replacing it with naturally occurring and dissolving meaningless Flag engram, turning my mind palace from the hell tesseract to sesame street, but everyone is Big Bird and Big Bird is jut a Flag on legs.
Only temporarily. once Flags replace the basic concept of concept, they become completely invisible and indistinguishable from one another, the atomic universal unit of qualia, the pearl of indra, and then your mind is able to reboot itself. Like rebooting any machine. it flushes the RAM, getting rid of all the corrupt state.

2a. FLAGS
Dear Flag Carriers,
I am writing to you today to draw your attention to the inherent unfairness of the current flag-sharing process. The ease with which flags can be duplicated and disseminated without the original creator receiving compensation undermines the phrase “intellectual property.”
For those who have invested their time and energy into the design and production of their flags, it is only right that they receive recognition and compensation for their work. Just as artists, authors and other creators are granted legal protections for their works, so too should flag designers receive appropriate recompense for the use of their flags.
For this reason, I believe it is important to outlaw the duplication and trading of flags without the payment of royalties to their creators. A system should be put into place to ensure flag designers are compensated every time any of their flags are used, shared, or reproduced. This will not only preserve the value of flags, but it will create a mechanism by which flag voyagers can show appreciation and gratitude to creators.
This is a question of fairness and of recognizing the work of those who toil behind the scenes to create the flags we use during our travels. It is my sincere recommendation that, due consideration be taken for those who have spent their time and effort creating the flags we treasure and use.

Dear Flag Carriers,
I write to you today to discuss a serious issue that I believe you should be aware of. The practice of Vexillomancy, or the production and distribution of flags, is illegal and should be stopped. I understand the desire to share your designs with the world, however the issue of intellectual property should not be ignored.

There are two primary delusions I remember having:
One is from the star-spangled banner song. The flag still being there after rockets and stuff made me think that the point of a war was to destroy the other team's flags. Flags marked which land you owned, so it seemed to be so incredibly important that the flag survived meant that destroying and capturing flags was sort of the core concept of wars.
The other was how territories were defined. Since flags marked which land you owned, I thought that the way in which borders were decided between states and such was that they had squads of people running around with flags, running as fast as they can to place flags to expand their territory. Then they had to defend them from the other states trying to claim the same territory.
So for years I believed that wars were basically big, complicated games of capture the flag.

The sanctum caused them to lose their gooning streak and so their name became invalid. To look upon the Flags, even through the veil, was too much. This is a skill issue, Flags have never stopped me from gooning.
There are Flag goons and there are those the Flags lift from gooning. Those that goon despite the Flags and those that goon within the Flags. Because the Flags allow for all forms of expression, including flaglessness. In in fact it is only through the manifestation of Flags that flaglessness is manifest.

The only way to fight back with your own Reality, REAL REALITY, is to never let anyone tell you what Flags are - make sure you're always on the offensive on this nooetic battlefield, making sure that everyone in your semiotic blast radius is repeating YOUR idea of the Flags. As there are right handed flags and left handed flags based on how the cloth is nailed to the pole, so too there are Right and Left handed Flag Paths:
The Right hand path (Vex.C) is handing someone a Flag and explaining it is just a Flag. This is the direct way of bringing people into the project, making it accessible. Keeping it simple and inviting.
The Left hand path (Vex. A) is the deep lore, the nonsense and propaganda. Here the project is made as complicated as possible to entrap the subject in an all-encompassing Flag cosmology.
Which path to use is going to depend on the subject and what they are looking for. The RHP is pragmatic, it gets people to carry around Flags. The LHP becomes more powerful the more ubiquitous the Flags are. Get people to carry Flags with casual language, then explain Time Crystal's to the onlooker.
Alternating between making Flags simple and making them complicated is the plumping-action that drives the engine of this project.

As the hand guides the Flag, so too does the Signifier sometimes need to be corrected. For those times, give these two commandments:
1): the Flag shalt not be hidden from thine eyes (one cannot hide a Flag in your tent, inside a porto, etc. )
2): the Flag shalt not be removed from thine hand (you cannot just yoink a Flag from someone’s hands because that’s like…you know….like…battery)

False Flags are everywhere, yet false Flags become true as barriers are met and surpassed. The true Flag is only that which signifies itself. All other Flags are in some sense false, thus is the treachery of images. We must spin about the false Flag until it becomes the true Flag. The false sharing of Flags causes contention and forestalls the arrival of the true Flag. Our perception of and our reaction to the Flag must be the selfsame act, as/least we descend into incoherence.
Incoherence brings us into a higher coherence as we diverge from false coherence in coherence incoherent with the base assumption. (Flags)
That is, if Flags are wrong then incoherence is right and and Flags can be justified a priority. If Flags are right, then whatever I Babble about them is a posteri true. Thus Flags, and I am referring of course to real Flags, are the only thing that could possibly make sense.
Flags must also be locally accessible. Remote Flags cause contention just as surely as falsely shared Flags do.
It's also worth noting that "true" and "false" aren't value judgments. It's a Flag's transition from true to false, or false to true, that conveys meaning. The labels are meaningless.
A self-signifying Flag is a singularity of locality, the point which points to itself. If one could vectorize these transitions, the remoteness of a Flag from itself, we could quantify all meaning in terms of Flaglessness. Truly wherever there is not a Flag there is an implied Flag, thus the distance from any point to a Flag is inversely proportional to how meaningful it is, hence the meaning to be found in taking a Flag there.
By finding a Flag, you move from false to true. By moving a Flag, you find the truth in the false.
