The Great Decompression

The Great Decompression is a proposed reason for the apparent end of time, arguing that it is possible that, after the events of the Last Year, people are simply too tired/bored to care about anything at all. Counterarguments have been raised that even attempts to contact several hundred years after -1 do not seem to be successful, but proponents claim that we should just give them a little more time, and that after the events of -1 people deserve to rest for a while. Detractors find it hard to believe that anyone, much less everyone alive, could stop caring about the Flags for so long and are concerned about the very sudden lack of activity, believing it to be unnatural.

Related is the hypothesis that administrators have put a temporary hold on ley-communication in order to prevent rash decisions and reduce conflict in the great decompression.
